Justice and Advocacy

Justice and Advocacy

Through our Service & Justice Commission, social and political issues and concerns are explored as part of the Bishops' call to Living Justice and the call to Faithful Citizenship, and ways to solve problems and advocate for justice are discerned.  Issues and advocacy activities are planned and communicated to our STM community and we work jointly with parishes in the area on some projects.  We believe that if one wants peace, one must work for justice.

In addition, STM is a covenant member of Bread for the World (global hunger and health legislative issues), and Service & Justice Commission keeps current on local, state, and national issues via our diocese, Project Promise, NAMI, E.S.T.H.E.R., and the Wisconsin Council of Catholic Bishops.

Commitment: Varies, single events to on-going research and projects.
