St. Thomas More Parish became a sister parish in the late 1990s when a call for one-time help became a more lasting relationship of over 35 years. Dr. Mike Reinardy and Craig and Connie Merrick began the delivery of food. For over 12 years, Betty and Lou Mauthe continued a more regular delivery of the food donations from St. Thomas More to St. Anthony’s until Robin and Carrie Adamski took over. St. Thomas More’s Heat and Energy Relief Fund also granted St. Anthony’s money for fuel and energy bills in the past when times were especially tough on the reservation.
Sr. Stephanie Spence gives us insight to our ongoing sister parish relationship with Neopit. We discuss the history of the food pantry, prejudice, and how to be involved.
