Care Ministry expands the pastoral care dimension offered by the church. Care ministers are volunteers who bring the love of God to those who are sick, lonely or suffering in some way by offering a hand of friendship and listening presence.
Visits are usually one hour in length with frequency being every other week or monthly as determined by the care minister and care receiver.
Training is available for anyone interested in becoming a care minister. The relationship that ensues over time is truly a gift!
If you are interested in Care Ministry, please contact Chris Rosenbaum, Parish Nurse, at nurse@stmcath.org, or Irene Skarban, Pastoral Associate, at irene@stmcath.org
Communion Distributors assist the clergy by making it possible for the faithful to receive Holy Communion.
They bring the Body of Our Lord to those who are homebound, reside in care facilities, or hospitalized. Distributors determine where they would feel comfortable serving.
Training involves the proper procedure and reverence of the Blessed Sacrament. The hospital provides further training and mentorship.
“I am the bread of life.”
